and poet speaks about Twinkles of Dawn
She endured hardships that
taught her how to seek God when there was nothing else to
depend on.
Who is Madeline Ndambakuwa
Madeline Nyaradzo Ndambakuwa
was born on 1st June 1968 in Harare, Zimbabwe to Julia
and Vengai Mudadi Ndambakuwa. She began as a self taught
artist from the influence of her grandmother Otilia
Mutengwa who was a fine potter and crafts woman. Her
major turning point in the pursuit of arts
was a divine encounter; and she began to seek wisdom
and training in the area of fine arts. Her first vocational
training was at the Mzilikazi Art and Craft Center in
Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. It was in this school that
she learned more skills to draw, paint, and commercial
design. Mr. Ndebele her tutor in Fine Arts
and her friend Todd Dube were the two people that had
a direct impact in her life as a painter both in watercolor
and oil painting. Her perfection in drawing and illustration
came about under the teaching of a US Professor Alexander
Bostic who challenged her to do more. He was the one
that inspired her to study in the US, after she graduated
from Bulawayo Poly Tech-School of Applied Arts and Design
(a sister college to the Virginia Commonwealth University).
She worked and travelled in a number of countries
before she decided to explore new horizons in the US
in 2001. Again her professor Dr. Henry Krusiewicz, made
her realize that she was a good writer. By circumstances
in 2004 she started to shift from painting to poetry
and in 2009 she published her first collection of poems
“Twinkles of Dawn” It is
in her work that you will find her close walk and faith
in God. She continues to explore different disciplines
of art including broadcasting; her desire is to see
a return of creativity for the glory of God.
The words of Madeline: Life was meaningless,
I was tired of sickness, worn out by witch doctors,
confused by ancestral worship and religion had moved
me from one baptism to another; but from the day I turned
to Jesus I was transformed. I have received peace and
everlasting love. Now my life has a meaning and I know
my purpose.
If you think you are losing ground or if you
have ever been down and under I have been there too!
My heart was torn with the agony of a broken promise,
rejection, depression, jobless, broke, fear; failing
health, pain, and sleepless nights. Later on to comprehend
the failure and shattered dreams; I was in a furnace
and there was nothing I could do to the broken pieces
of my life. I am sure if you have been there you can
feel me. I had emotional scars, physical scars on my
skin and deep in my muscles, I was scared from
a tumor that had been surgically removed. Spiritually
I had begun to doubt and question my faith but I did
not lose hope. When my heart was overwhelmed and my
cry was faint, Jesus became my rock; I prayed
and found a place by his side. And this is
what I have learned in my journey with Jesus; he calms
my storms and I can not be subdued. Now my prayer is:
His kingdom come in my life and his will be done in
and through me.
The words of Jesus: Matt11v 28-30"Are
you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to
me. Get away with me and you'll recover your life.
I'll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me
and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the
unforced rhythms of grace. I won't lay anything heavy
or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you'll
learn to live freely and lightly." (The Message
Bible)

Are you an aspiring Champion?

Champions
Trials
and afflictions make champions.
Challenges are a game of the brave.
The ordinary that choose,
To step up to greater heights,
And become extra-ordinary.
Champions are heroes,
Made in the fiery furnace;
Then honored in the ring,
As a result of their relentless efforts,
Put in when no one is watching.
Champions
are constantly forging ahead,
In spite of the mighty current resisting them,
They have a dolphin’s forehead,
Made to cruise in the water,
Champions refuse to take no, for an answer.
They are unstoppable, immovable, principled and persuaded
With a deep conviction; set in their beliefs;
They have the faith to win.
Champions are carved in steel,
With drilled strength, beyond their pain,
